Trip overview
Nepal has no shortage of honeymoon packages. But most of them follow the same path: Kathmandu, Pokhara, and maybe a short trek. This Himalayan luxury honeymoon package is different. It takes you deep into Nepal's wild side first, then brings you back for classic mountain romance. The result is a luxury trip that feels personal, not packaged.
Your journey starts in Kathmandu, then heads to Bardiya National Park, one of the country's least visited yet most rewarding wildlife reserves. Here you'll track tigers and rhinos on a private jeep safari and glide down the Karnali River in a jungle canoe, just the two of you. From there, you'll fly to Rara Lake, Nepal's largest and most pristine alpine lake. Few travelers make it this far, which is exactly what makes it special. Think quiet mornings, clear water, and mountains that seem to belong only to you.
The second half of this Nepal honeymoon package shifts into something softer. In Pokhara, you'll toast yourselves with champagne on a cruise across Fewa Lake, take a scenic flight over the Himalayas and indulge in a couple's spa. Enjoy sweeping sunset views of the Himalayan range in your last days in Nagarkot, before a cultural stop in Bhaktapur, one of Nepal’s best-preserved medieval cities.
Every stop on this luxury honeymoon Nepal itinerary is built around comfort and connection. You'll stay in 5-star suites and villas, enjoy private dining, and travel with expert guides who handle the logistics so you don't have to think about a thing. It's 14 days that move from wild adventure to quiet romance, with nothing rushed and nothing missed.

Today is the day of the wild. After an early breakfast, you’ll take a private jeep safari deep into Bardiya National Park, one of the least crowded and most rewarding wildlife reserves in Nepal. The park covers an area of nearly 968 sq km, and your morning drive can itself cover 25 to 30 km while passing through dense sal forests and open grasslands. You may spot the Bengal tigers, one-horned rhinos and wild elephants, as well as over 400 species of birds that live in this park. Your expert naturalist guide will show you how to spot tracks and signs long before you see the animals themselves. Back at the lodge for lunch, there’s a second round in the afternoon safari session, this time focusing on the riverbanks along the Karnali, where the wildlife tends to gather as the day cools down. A full day of adventure, this experience is one of the most memorable parts of your luxury honeymoon in the Himalayas, showing a raw, untouched side of Nepal that most travelers don't experience.
Highlights of the Day:
Morning private jeep safari through the forests and grasslands of Bardiya
Chance sightings of Bengal tigers, rhinos and wild elephants

Your second day in Bardiya is a bit more relaxed, mixing water and culture with the wildlife experience. After breakfast, take a private jungle canoe ride on the Karnali River, drifting gently along an 8 to 10 kilometer stretch. It's a slow-paced float that lets you spot crocodiles, otters and river birds without the noise of a motor and often brings you closer to wildlife than a jeep ever could. Later in the day you will visit a nearby Tharu village, one of the oldest indigenous communities in Nepal. Here you get a real taste of Tharu homes, farming customs and everyday life. In the evening you have a chance to see a traditional cultural performance. This day concludes your stay at Bardiya National Park with a good blend of adventure and authentic local experiences, adding real depth to your Nepal honeymoon package before heading towards the mountains.

Today you will leave the jungle and head towards the mountains. After breakfast you will be driven back in a private vehicle to the airstrip and take a scenic flight to Talcha Airport, the gateway to Rara Lake, the largest and highest alpine lake in Nepal. The flight takes between 45 minutes and an hour and provides impressive views as the landscape changes from lowland forest to high-altitude terrain. From Talcha, it's a short drive or gentle walk of about 3 to 4 kilometers to reach the lake itself, sitting at an elevation of nearly 3,000 meters. As you arrive, you'll immediately notice how few people make it out this far, which is exactly what makes the setting feel so untouched. The rest of the day is free to rest, acclimatize and just absorb the surroundings of pine forests and clear blue water. This is a real turning point in your Himalayan luxury honeymoon package as you exchange wildlife adventure for quiet, high-altitude serenity. Today's Highlights:
Scenic mountain flight from Nepalgunj to Talcha Airport
First views of Rara Lake, Nepal's largest alpine lake
Short scenic drive or walk from the airstrip to the lakeside

The trail offers changing views of Rara Lake at every turn, along with a wonderful chance of spotting Himalayan birds and, if you're lucky, red pandas in the surrounding forest. Later in the morning, you'll head out for a boat excursion across the lake itself, drifting over water so clear you can often see several meters down. In the afternoon, the pace slows further with time set aside for private couple's moments by the shore, whether that means a quiet picnic, photography, or simply sitting with the mountains reflected in the water. Evenings here bring cool, crisp air and some of the clearest night skies in Nepal. This day gives your Himalayan honeymoon package a rare kind of stillness that's difficult to find anywhere else in the country.
Highlights of the Day:
Guided nature walk along lakeside through pine forest
Boat trip across the crystal-clear waters of Lake Rara

It’s a quiet, personal moment that makes the work of getting this far into Nepal feel completely worthwhile. After breakfast at the lodge, you will be transferred to Talcha Airport for your flight home. You will connect through Nepalgunj and continue on to Pokhara, Nepal’s lake city and one of its most popular honeymoon destinations. The total airtime for the day is about 2.5 to 3 hours – with a total distance of about 350 kilometers. Arrive in Pokhara late afternoon and check in to your resort. The rest of the evening is free to relax and enjoy views of the mountains around the city. Arrive and check in at your lakeside resort in Pokhara

Today is dedicated to the romantic heart of Pokhara. Drifting across the calm water, you'll get postcard views of the Annapurna range reflected on the surface, along with a close up look at Tal Barahi Temple, a small pagoda-style shrine sitting on its own island in the middle of the lake. The cruise is normally around 4 to 5 km and is at a slow pace so there is plenty of time to just enjoy the moment together. In the afternoon you are free to explore Pokhara’s lakeside area at leisure, browsing local shops and cafes along the water, or relax back at the resort. As darkness descends, the last light of day often outlines the mountains surrounding Pokhara, creating one of Nepal's most-photographed sunsets. Today you’re invited to slow down and get in sync on your Himalayan luxury honeymoon package, with a rhythm that’s all about intimacy and connection.

In the afternoon, you'll stop by Davis Falls and the nearby Gupteshwor Cave, both within a short 10 minute drive of each other, offering a mix of natural scenery and a bit of local legend. You get a chance to stretch your legs on a stop along the way, grab lunch and enjoy the countryside before continuing on. By late afternoon you will arrive in Nagarkot and check into your resort, located at an altitude of approximately 2,175 meters. As evening descends, take a short walk from the resort to a local viewpoint and watch the sunset color the eastern Himalayan range, with Everest visible on a clear day. Important trip information
The best time for this Himalayan luxury honeymoon package is in the fall, September to November or in the spring, March to May. The clear skies and cool mountain air in fall make it a wonderful season to observe wildlife in Bardiya and enjoy tranquil, mirror-smooth views at Rara Lake. Spring is equally rewarding with mild weather and rhododendrons blooming all over the hills around Pokhara and Nagarkot. Both seasons provide the visibility you want for that picture-perfect Himalayan flight and the comfort you require for outdoor activities like the jungle canoe ride and lake cruises. Monsoon rains arrive with the summer and can impact flights and visibility. The winter gets cold in higher areas like Rara Lake. The best time for a lovely and really romantic luxury honeymoon in Nepal is still the autumn and spring seasons.
Every night of this trip is spent in comfort. You'll stay in 5-star luxury properties for 13 nights, each one chosen for its setting as much as its service. In Bardiya, that means a peaceful jungle lodge close to the wild. At Rara Lake, it's a remote alpine retreat with views most travelers never get to see. Pokhara suites face Fewa Lake, ideal for balmy evenings on your own balcony. And in Nagarkot, you’ll wake up to sweeping views of the mountains right outside your window. Luxury amenities and large suites or villas for couples are available at each property, so there’s always room to relax after a busy day of adventure. A real luxury honeymoon in Nepal is defined by not only the gorgeous scenery but also a place to rest that feels just as special as the experiences that surround it.
Food is also part of the romance of this trip. You kick off your day with a hearty breakfast at your resort to ease into the day’s adventure. During the 14 days you will have 11 lunches, some of which will be simple picnics in lovely outdoor locations such as by Rara Lake or after a morning safari in Bardiya. Evenings are reserved for something even more special: 13 romantic dinners with authentic Nepali cuisine as well as international favorites. Some meals are in unique settings, making dinner an experience, not just a meal. As part of your luxury honeymoon Nepal experience, you will also get to join a hands-on Nepali cooking class, learning local recipes together. Each meal on this trip is designed to feel unhurried and thoughtful, from a quiet breakfast with mountain views to a candlelit dinner after a day spent exploring Fewa Lake, giving you one more reason to relax and enjoy each other's company.
A few permits are required along with your standard travel documents, as traveling through Bardiya and Rara Lake involves visiting protected national park areas. The good news is that the park entry permits are already in your Himalayan luxury honeymoon package so a lot of the paper work is already done. What you and your partner will need to do before you go is as follows.
Nepal tourist visa: Most nationalities can get a visa on arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport or through the online e-visa system.
Passport: Minimum 6 months validity from date of entry
Entry permit to Bardiya National Park: The permit is included in your package to enter the reserve.
Rara National Park entry permit: This permit is necessary for entering Rara Lake and is included as part of your package.
Photos: Passport Size A few extra copies are useful for processing permits and visas.
Travel and medical insurance: Not included, but advisable before you go
This honeymoon package is made for comfort, so you won’t be doing any serious high-altitude trekking. That said, Rara Lake is at almost 3,000 meters, so a few simple precautions will help you feel your best throughout the trip. Our guides are trained to help you along at each stop, but a bit of prep goes a long way.
Altitude: Rara Lake is at an altitude of around 2,990 meters. Mild symptoms such as headache or fatigue are common, so take it slow and rest when needed.
Hydration: Lots of water, especially on days with flights or altitude changes
Travel insurance: Recommended for medical emergencies, evacuation and trip changes
Vaccinations – Consult your doctor about routine and travel vaccinations before you leave.
Physical fitness: There is no technical trekking involved but you should wear shoes that are kind to your feet for park safaris and nature walks.
Guides carry a basic first aid kit, and clinics and hospitals are found in nearby towns if you need medical assistance.
Bardiya is a warm plain, and Rara Lake is cooler alpine air. Temperatures change quickly so pack layered clothing.
Rara Lake and Nagarkot are some of the best photo opportunities in Nepal so be sure to bring a good camera or phone with extra storage.
If you can, book your domestic flights early in the day—mountain weather can cause afternoon delays.
Bring small change for the local markets and personal purchases outside the package.
Carry a small day bag apart from your main luggage for safaris and nature walks.
Trust your guides’ local knowledge, especially in Bardiya National Park when it comes to safety around wildlife.
Take time to relax at each resort, rather than rushing from activity to activity.
Before you go, check that your travel insurance covers remote areas like Rara Lake.
Carry a power bank to keep devices charged, as electricity hours are limited in some remote lodges.
Nagarkot can be cold at night and early morning to see the sunrise so you may want to bring a light jacket.
